Turned Off

Shortest post ever.

You know. We all say that personalities matter to us a lot when we choose the people we become romantically involved with. And I'm sure it does, to a point. But we all know that there's some physical attraction involved in some way. However that manages to manifest itself, however you define the word "physical".

But, let's have some fun here, folks. Say you find someone absurdly gorgeous. And you start to spend time with them. And they seem very cool. And then... something is revealed. Something about them on the inside just turns you right the hell off. And you know you can't continue with it lest you feel ill every night before bed.

So what are those things for you, folks? I don't mean things you SAY you don't like but you've found yourself able to swallow and deal with – for me, this would include smoking and, um, liking “Pearl Harbor” - but things that you could never accept in a partner.

Want mine? I would say “ignorance,” but a. that's lazy and b. we're all ignorant to some degree. Saying that usually just means you think you're more clued in than they are and won't dare spend time with such a simpleton.

So, to be more specific, I'd go with willful ignorance. A stubborn lack of curiosity. Taking joy in a lack of knowledge.

You see, to not know is pretty damn human. To not seek to know more is a dealbreaker for JPBG.

Oh, and now Time magazine is stealing my ideas.

Have at it, folks. This should be funny.

Peace and love,
Justin PBG
